Coaches

Peter Ciavaglia – Head Coach
A former professional hockey player with the Buffalo Sabres, Detroit Vipers, and the 1994 US Olympic Team, Peter has the skills and patience to teach the players the game he loves. In 2007 Peter decided to give back to the community by providing the opportunity for special needs individuals to play and enjoy the game of hockey.

Andy Hannah – Manager
Andy’s passion to become involved and help others led him to the MORC Stars. As the manger of the team, he is the liaison between Peter, the staff, players and their families.

Richard Whitlock – Equipment Manager
Richard was equipment manager for the MORC Stars from 2007 to 2011. Richard passed away suddenly in July 2011. He is greatly missed by everyone.

Tony Sinelli – Assistant Coach
A former club and highschool hockey standout, Tony enjoys being at the rink and watching the kids progress each week. 2010-2011 marks Tony’s 4th year of coaching the Stars. Tony is the die-hard Detroit sports fan of the staff.

Jennifer Taiariol – Assistant Coach
A school psychologist in the Livonia Public School District, Jennifer works with students with all types of disabilities. She also trains graduate level students to become school psychologists at Wayne State University. Jennifer has three sons who play hockey and has played herself for the past 8 years.

Annemarie Woznicki – Assistant Coach
A special education teacher in Livonia for 20 years, Annemarie has worked with students with various disabilities. She started coaching the Stars during the 2009-2010 season. Annemarie is also a hockey mom who has two sons playing hockey.

Kevin Marson – Assistant Coach
A junior at Catholic Central High School, Kevin has been playing hockey since he was 7 years old. He also plays baseball and enjoys golfing whenever he can. Kevin has been coaching the Stars for the past 3 years and really enjoys helping the kids learn the exciting game of hockey. Kevin’s biggest reward is when he sees the big smiles on the players faces.
